The Biennale, co-curated by Nicolas Couturieux and Tilt, looks at the origins of graffiti emerging from New York through the work of pioneering artists from the movement, while also exhibiting contemporary artists of global renown.
The Musée des Abattoirs shows work by five urban artists FUTURA (New-York), Craig Costello (New-York), Boris Tellegen (Amsterdam), MIST (Montpellier) and TILT (Toulouse) while the Chateau d’Eau focuses on photography with Martha Cooper, Henry Chalfant et Sylvain Largot, including images of figures from the urban art scene, their own photographs, and documentation of the movement. Rose Béton is responsible for covering the walls of the city with gigantic murals created by various artists Miss Van (FR), Honet (FR), Aryz (ESP), Ben Eine (ENG), Hendrick Beikirch (DE) et Reso (FR).
